Ricochet Skid Plates for Can-Am Outlander 330/400.  There is one machine that requires skid plates, and that is the Can-Am Outlanders. This is one machine that skid plates are not an option, due to Can-Am's frame design. Its frame may split because the entire spar frame is hollow, and it will not stand up to any heavy impact. Serious damage can be done to the frame of your Can-Am ATV if you bottom out on a large rock. If you think this is an isolated incident, think again; the fact is most owners agree that skid plates are needed. We mention all this not too bash the Can-Am Outlander, but rather to point out how vulnerable the frame really is. There are a few critical sections of the Can-Am Outlander, and the footboards are one of them. The footboards are aluminum, and can easily get hung up on obstacles, so protection is essential. The front bash portion, which is the most vulnerable section of the Outlander, is where all the damage occurs. Ricochet did an excellent job in beefing up and reinforcing this front portion.
