Can-Am Defender 6" Portal Gear Lift

Gen 3 Portals Are Geared for All
SuperATV’s GDP 6” Portal Gear Lift for the Can-Am Defender is the perfect solution for riders who want taller machines, bigger tires, and unmatched power. With both 30% and 45% gear reduction options, we’re making no assumptions about your individual riding style. Are you a fan of climbing rocks or cutting through deep mud bogs? Choose the 45% gear reduction for more torque and bigger tires. Do you feel more at home exploring your favorite trails? Our 30% gear reduction will help you stay powerful and punchy while tearing it up.

GDP—the Most Trusted Name in Portals
Riding styles vary, but one thing remains the same—if you’re in the market for portals, you need to go with SuperATV. Our portals are stronger, smarter, and more proven than anything else on the market. That’s why no matter where you go, you’ll see more people riding on GDP portals than any other brand. Why would you buy from anyone but the experts?

Perfect for Mud
Our 6” portals give you the ground clearance and torque boost needed to tear through the deepest, thickest mud bogs. Being able to run massive tires will make your muddin' experience even better. Bottom line—SuperATV portals and mud go hand in hand.

A Gear Reduction That Protects Your Drivetrain
Our portals put the gear reduction in the hub, instead of in your transmission. This is a literal lifesaver for your axles, prop shaft, differential, and transmission. Your factory steering geometry remains untouched and those parts aren’t put under any extra strain.

Learn more about how tire size and gear reduction can unleash your machine’s potential.

Unmatched Gear Material
Quality gears are at the heart of a quality set of portals. That’s why we use precision-ground 9310 alloy steel, so they mate perfectly every time. Your gears will stay cool and quiet, even when you’re pushing the pedal to the metal.

Stronger Housings by Design
You can look, but we guarantee you won’t find better housings than the ones we use on our GDP portals. We’ve done our research and put them to the test, and the result is a housing that is stronger by design. You choose—cast or USA-made, CNC-machined 6061 billet aluminum. Whatever you go with, rest assured knowing that you’re getting top-quality housings with unmatched strength and reliability.
  • Our housings are reinforced in all the right places
  • They’re built with better oil flow and gearing forces in mind
  • There are no gimmicks and no vents because vents do more harm than good—we know because we tested them
The Strongest Portal Backing Plates You Can Get
The advanced steel alloy we use for our backing plates is even stronger than chromoly. It’s specialized for ultra-high force applications, and at 5/16” thick, you can bet these backing plates will outlast anything else on your machine (and even your machine itself). We won’t settle for less on our backing plates, and neither should you.

Advanced Gaskets and Seals
Whether you go with cast or billet, both housings use:
  • Advanced Thermo-Tork® gaskets with excellent oil resistance and a lower deterioration rate than Kevlar gaskets
  • A sealed input gear and double-lipped output seal
  • 100% sealing coverage throughout so you can forget about oil leaks
Bearings That Rock
If you want a smooth ride every time, you need bearings you can trust. We use roller bearings to hold our idler gear because we don’t compromise when it comes to strength. Our output bearing is a double-angular contact bearing that can handle huge loads in any direction without showing wear. When we say these bearings are built for battle, we mean it. You can bet they’re strong enough to put up with whatever abuse you put them through.

Universal Hubs and Slotted Rotors
Get the braking power you need, when you need it, with our precision-ground, stainless steel slotted rotors. They stay cool no matter how hard you ride. And our universal hubs aren’t just strong—they serve to make your life easier with 4/156, 4/137, 4/115, and 4/110 bolt patterns and lugs. You’ll be able to run almost any side-by-side wheel under the sun with these hubs. We also invented the tapered output shaft that our hubs attach to. It gives you a more secure lock that won’t wobble or wear over time.
