Description
Your Can-Am Defender HD5's steering rack takes a beating. Every time you hit the trail hard, add bigger tires, or pile on weight with a lift kit, that stock rack and pinion works overtime. Eventually it wears out, gets sloppy, and costs you money. The RackBoss 2.0 Rack and Pinion is built to handle all that abuse and last way longer than what came from the factory.
What makes it different? SuperATV engineered this with a dual-bushing design and X24 technology that cuts wear down by more than half compared to stock. You're getting a steering system that can keep pace with serious upgrades and rough terrain.
What You Get
Inside the box is the complete rack and pinion assembly with a built-in grease fitting—so you can maintain it after muddy weekends without tearing anything apart. Both tie rod options come with inner boots, a steering stop kit, misalignment bushings, studs, and all the hardware you need to bolt it on.
Two Tie Rod Choices
Swaged Steel Tube
This option uses 7/8" diameter steel tube that's been swaged for extra strength. It pairs 16 mm inner ball sockets with 14 mm outer tie rod ends. It's a solid middle-ground choice if you ride moderately hard and want something tougher than stock without going all-in.
Solid Steel Bar
Go this route if you beat on your machine. One-inch solid steel bars paired with 3/4" outer heim joint ends and adjustable inner tie rod ends (3/4" rod threads, 16 mm rack threads). These are built to soak up heavy hits and won't give up on you.
Both designs keep the same dual-bushing X24 tech inside—the only difference is how you want your tie rods built.
