This Ricochet skid plate bolts right on and sits between all that abuse and your frame. It's made to take the hits so your engine and frame don't have to. Simple as that.

Important note: The way the frame sits on 2008 models won't work with this plate. Make sure you've got a 2009 or newer before ordering.
About the black powder coat:
Want a tough black finish instead of the standard look? Add the black powder coat for $30 extra. Just know that if you go this route, your order will take an extra 1-2 weeks to get to you since the coating has to cure.
