Description
Your KLX250R's undercarriage takes a beating on the trail — rocks, stumps, logs, and rough ground come at you fast. A solid skid plate is the difference between walking out and getting towed out. We redesigned ours from scratch to give you bulletproof coverage that actually works.
What You're Getting
- Full-length skid plate sized to fit 1994-1996 KLX250R models
- Chrome-Moly brackets and fasteners (they're built tough and won't vibrate loose)
- Everything needed to bolt it on — no drilling into your frame
Two Ways To Build It
Start with 5052-H32 aircraft-grade aluminum, 0.160" thick with a clear anodized coat. That's your base — solid protection right there. Want more? Add a UHMW plastic layer on top for extra slide and shock absorption when you're really beating on things. The plastic takes the first impact so the aluminum doesn't have to.
The Hardware Story
We use Chrome-Moly brackets instead of regular steel — they're more than twice as strong. Everything bolts up with custom fasteners that keep the plate locked down tight. No rattle, no movement. And when you need to pull it off for maintenance, it's quick and simple.
Already Running Our Skid?
You can buy just the UHMW overlay by itself (SKU 266-U) and add it to your existing plate. No need to replace the whole thing.
Color Options
The standard finish ships fast. Want a durable black powder coat instead? Add 1 to 2 weeks to your ship time, but you'll get a finish that'll last.
