Kawasaki KLX230S Skid Plate
Your KLX230S's undercarriage takes a beating. Rocks, logs, stumps—they all come after your engine and frame. This Ricochet skid plate is built to stop that damage before it starts. It bolts on without any drilling, comes with everything you need, and installs in minutes.
What you're getting
The plate itself is 5052 H32 aircraft-grade aluminum, 0.160" thick, with a clear anodized coat that keeps it from rusting out. You also get heavy-duty chromoly steel brackets (more than twice as strong as regular mild steel) and all the fasteners—no hunting around the hardware store or dealing with rattle.
Installation is straightforward
No drilling. No tapping. No modifications to the bike. Just bolt it on where it needs to go. The hardware's precision-fitted so everything stays tight, and if you ever need to pull it off for service, it comes right off clean.
Upgraded material option
Want something with even more cushion against big hits? Ricochet also offers a combo of 3/16" aluminum plus a 1/4" UHMW plastic layer underneath. This version absorbs impact better and slides over rocks smoother. Fair warning: this upgraded material is only available for 2024–2026 models.
Black powder coat
If you want the black powder coat finish instead of clear anodized, add it on. Just know it'll take an extra 1–2 weeks to ship out.
