Kawasaki KLX230SM Skid Plate

This skid plate bolts under your KLX230SM to keep rocks, roots, and rough ground from beating up your bike's undercarriage. Ricochet makes it in two versions depending on your year—one for 2020–2023 models and an upgraded one for 2024–2026. Both come with all the hardware you need, bolt right on without any drilling, and go together in minutes.

What You're Getting

The kit includes the aluminum skid plate and all mounting brackets and fasteners. Everything's custom-made to work together—no hunting for the right bolts or worrying about stuff rattling loose.

Materials And How They're Built

The base plate is 5052 H32 aluminum (the good aircraft-grade stuff), 0.160" thick with clear anodize on it to fight corrosion. The brackets underneath are Chromoly steel—way stronger than regular steel—so they handle the hard hits without bending or cracking.

If you've got a 2024–2026 model, you can upgrade to a thicker aluminum plate (3/16") with a 1/4" layer of UHMW plastic bonded to it. The plastic layer soaks up more shock when you hit rocks and helps the whole thing slide easier over obstacles. This option's not compatible with the earlier years.

Installation Is Dead Simple

The custom hardware means no drilling, no tapping, no special tools. You can have it bolted on in about 10 minutes.

Powder Coat Finish Available

Want it in black instead of the natural aluminum look? Add the black powder coat option for extra corrosion protection. Just keep in mind it'll tack on 1–2 extra weeks to your delivery time.
