How it's built
Ricochet makes these from 5052 H32 aircraft-grade aluminum, .160 inch thick. That's solid material that can handle real trail abuse. It comes with a clear anodize finish that adds a layer of corrosion protection on top of the aluminum.
Heavier protection option: For 2024+ models, you can upgrade to 3/16" aluminum with 1/4" UHMW plastic laminated on. The plastic soaks up impact noise and adds extra durability if you're really hammering the undercarriage.
Finish choices
You've got two options. Leave it as-is with the clear anodize, or add a black powder coat finish for $45. If you go the powder coat route, plan on an extra 1-2 weeks for shipping while they apply and cure it. The bare aluminum also comes ready if you want to powder coat it yourself down the road.
