Can-Am Defender HD5 Cab Heater

Cold weather doesn't have to mean shivering through your rides. This cab heater taps into your Can-Am Defender HD5's coolant system to push warm air into your cab—the same way your truck or car works. You'll stay comfortable when temperatures drop, and the whole setup installs without a ton of hassle.

The kit comes loaded. You get the heater unit itself, hoses sized for your Defender, mounting plates cut for a direct fit, and all the drill bits you'll need for installation. Everything plugs into your existing key-on and power terminals, so there's no rewiring involved. Two vents built into the heater unit keep air flowing into your cab, and a separate defrost vent with dedicated hoses clears snow and fog off your windshield. The defrost line runs through the dash for a clean, factory look.

SuperATV's heavy-duty radiator hoses won't crack or fail in the cold. They're rated to handle everything from -40°F all the way to 285°F—so whether it's deep winter or your engine's running hot on the trail, these hoses keep working. The whole heater assembly is tough enough for both extreme engine heat and bitter outdoor temperatures.

Two choices let you cut down warm-up time. A quick-start flow valve gets you heated air in roughly half the normal time by routing all coolant straight to your heater core while the engine's still cold. Once the engine hits operating temperature, the valve opens automatically to let coolant flow through the radiator like normal. If you want even faster heat, an idle flow pump delivers warmth to your cab in about 30 seconds by actively circulating coolant through the system even when you're idling or moving slow. You can run either upgrade alone, or combine them both for maximum heat as quickly as possible.

Block cold air from hitting your radiator with a grille cover made from PVC-backed polyester. Higher coolant temps help your heater warm up faster. It clips on and off easily, but note: don't run it when it's above freezing, or your engine will overheat.

This heater works best when your cab is sealed up. Adding full doors, a roof, and front and rear windshields keeps all that heat inside where it belongs, so you get the most out of the system. These pieces are sold separately.
