Your FJ's fuel tank hangs down low and wide — exactly where rocks, ruts, and stumps can take a shot at it. One good hit can dent or puncture the tank, and you're looking at a costly repair and a dead trip. Ricochet makes a solid aluminum skid plate that sits underneath and takes those impacts so your tank doesn't have to.
What You're Getting
The package includes the fuel tank skid plate and all the bolts and hardware you need to bolt it on. Keep in mind you'll also need Ricochet's Supporting Cross Member (999-C), which is sold separately — that's what holds everything in place.
How It's Built
This thing is cut and formed from quarter-inch (0.250") 5052-H32 aluminum — the same grade used in aircraft. It won't bend or fold on you after a hard hit, sheds rust completely, and laughs at mud, water, and salt. You get real protection without carrying around the weight of steel.
Powder Coat Option
If you want it finished in black, Ricochet can powder coat the skid plate for $50 extra. That's the skid plate only though — the cross member doesn't get coated. Heads up: adding powder coat means tacking on about 1-2 weeks to your ship time.
