Yamaha TT-R225 & XT225 Ricochet Aluminum Skid Plate

This Ricochet skid plate fits Yamaha TT-R225 and XT225 models from 1991 through 2007. It bolts right underneath your bike to shield the engine, transmission, and frame from rocks, logs, stumps, and whatever else you're riding over. Without protection, a hard hit to those parts can crack cases, dent the frame, or bend critical components—so this plate does the heavy lifting to keep your bike rideable.

What you get:

The plate itself is made from 5052-H32 aircraft-grade aluminum, .160 inch thick, so it's built solid and built to last. It comes with Ricochet's proprietary mounting hardware—no drilling, no tapping into your bike. Just bolt it on with the heavy-duty brackets included and you're done. The whole install is straightforward and doesn't require any fabrication work.

The standard finish is clear anodize, which gives you corrosion protection right out of the box.

Powder coat options:

Want a tougher, more durable black finish? You can order it with a black powder coat applied here before we ship. Just know that adding the powder coat means tacking an extra 1-2 weeks onto your delivery time. If you'd rather save the time, the bare aluminum surface comes prepped and ready if you want to powder coat it yourself down the road.
