Yamaha WR450F Ricochet Aluminum Skid Plate

If you ride a Yamaha WR450F between 2003 and 2024, this skid plate from Ricochet is built to guard your undercarriage from rocks, roots, and whatever else you hit on the trail. Without protection underneath, a hard impact can crack your engine cases or damage critical components—not something you want to deal with out in the middle of nowhere. This one bolts right on with hardware that doesn't require any drilling or tapping into your frame.

What You're Getting

The skid is made from 5052 H32 aircraft-grade aluminum, .160 inch thick, so it can handle real abuse. It mounts with heavy-duty brackets and Ricochet's own hardware—everything you need to bolt it down tight without a trip to the machine shop. If you've got the 2024 model, you can add a 1/4" UHMW plastic layer on top for extra impact absorption.

Finish Options

Your skid comes standard with a clear anodize coat that adds a layer of corrosion protection. If you want to step up, we can ship it to you with a durable black powder coat finish instead—just add a week or two to your shipping time since we'll coat it in-house. Or, if you prefer to powder coat it yourself, the aluminum ships prepped and ready for you to do the work.
